<p>Use the New JDBC Connection Pool (Step 1 of 2) page to create a new JDBC connection pool.</p>
<p>The New JDBC Connection Pool (Step 1 of 2) page contains the following options.</p>
<dl>
<dt>Pool Name</dt>
<dd>
<p>The name for the connection pool.</p>
</dd>
<dt>Resource Type</dt>
<dd>
<p>Available resource types are <code>javax.sql.XADataSource</code> (global transactions), <code>java.sql.ConnectionPoolDataSource</code> (local transactions, possible performance improvements), <code>javax.sql.DataSource</code> (local transactions only), and <code>java.sql.Driver</code>.</p>
</dd>
<dt>Database Driver Vendor</dt>
<dd>
<p>The name of the vendor of your database product.</p>
</dd>
<dt>Introspect</dt>
<dd>
<p>If this option is enabled, the database driver is introspected based on the Resource Type and Database Driver Vendor, and any discovered datasource or driver class names are displayed on the <a href="ref-jdbcconnectionpoolnew2.html">New JDBC Connection Pool (Step 2 of 2)</a> page when you click the Next button.</p>
<p>For introspection to work, the JDBC driver must be available to GlassFish Server. See <a href="task-integratejdbcdriver.html">To Integrate a JDBC Driver</a>.</p>
